Description
Chapter One: Oscar is writing to god and he writing as the ten year old he is, he introduces "Granny Rose"[1] who encouraged him to start writing letters to god. Oscar talks about his stay at the hospital and how everyone seems to be disappointed in him ever since his bone marrow transplant. He also introduces other patients who he has befriended.
Chapter Two: Oscar is writing to god and he tells how he found out he was dying. His parents who only visit on sundays came to speak to the doctor and the doctor explained there was nothing left to do for Oscar. Oscar overheard the conversation and was angered that his parents rather than coming to see him, were too upset and left all together. He speaks about how Granny Rose comforted him and told him to make a different wish for the next 12 days.
Chapter Three: Oscar writes to god pretending to be twenty, Peggy Blue is introduced as Oscar expresses the fact that he likes her. His parents catch him kissing Peggy. In this chapter Oscar shows how distant his parents and him are.
